General


End of Season Versatility Rally Rules


 


1.                   Teams to sign in by 10.00am, first game starts at 10.30am.


2.                  EN/FENA rules of play shall apply throughout the tournament.


3.                  Positional bibs must be worn.


4.                  Players may play for one team only.


5.                  Teams to consist of a squad of only 7 players, registered in their normal playing positions as per NWKL Saturday Winter League..


6.                  Matches will begin and end on the umpire’s whistle immediately following the timekeeper’s hooter indicating the start and finish of a match.


7.                  All teams to provide a qualified umpire to cover their umpiring commitments throughout the day. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the deposit. If the umpire arrives late, thus starting the game late, and this is brought to the attention of the organiser, then 5 points will be deducted (every time this occurs) from your final score.


8.                  No allowance will be made for late arrivals: any team not on court (a minimum of 5 players) for their scheduled match will forfeit the game/points, but may play the match as a ‘friendly’.


9.                  No extra time is allowed for injury or illness (umpires note the rule on bleeding). Substitution is only allowed in the event of injury. The substituted player will take NO FURTHER part in the rally.


10.               All jewellery, which includes ‘body piercing’ that is visible must be removed. Nails cut short and SMOOTH. This must be done prior to the commencement of the tournament. No extra time will be allowed for this. Only a wedding ring that is taped can be worn. Any player not complying with these rules will not be allowed to play, even if the match has started.


11.                Captains of both teams are responsible for returning the scorecard to the table.


12.               Points shall be awarded as follows:- 


(a)              5 points for a win


(b)              3 points for a draw


(c)              1 point for the losing team if they score MORE than 50% of their opponents score.


13.               In the event of a dispute, the Committee’s decision is final.


14.               The Committee reserve the right to make changes to the schedule that may be necessary.


15.               The NWKL cannot accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss, which may occur during the tournament.


16.               The tournament will take place irrespective of the weather.


17.               Teams must ‘toss’ to decide the first centre pass and ends.


18.               Games are 6 minutes each way with NO HALF TIME (immediate turn around), and one minutes between games.


19.               AFTER ONE MINUTE A hooter will sound , to signal to the umpires to start the game.


20.              Normal playing positions MUST be submitted before the tournament commences.


21.               Teams always UMPIRE the game immediately after they have played, on the same court, except for the first game.


 


 


These rules are subject to change.  Any changes will be advised to players and officials at the start of each End of Season Versatility Rally.
