NORTH WEST KENT THURSDAY NIGHT WINTER LEAGUE – RULES OF PLAY
All matches are played under the rules of the AENA.
All matches shall consist of four quarters of 12 minutes each with an interval of two minutes at quarter time and half time. A one-minute warning will be sounded prior to the start of each game. The umpires control the start and finish of the game.
Matches will start at 7.30pm and 8.30pm PROMPTLY. Teams not arriving and ready to play at the designated time will not be allowed extra time and the points will be awarded to the non-offending team.
Unfortunately there is no injury time. If a serious injury occurs during a game umpires are required not to stop time.
The floodlights will be used as required, but please note they have to be switched off at 9.30pm.
Each team must provide a minimum “C” qualified umpire, a ball and shall wear identification bibs. All teams must have a first aid kit with them at all matches.
Both teams will fill in a result card and place in the result box, provided at Coldharbour reception, or sent by post to Sue Fennell.
Please make sure each card is filled in correctly, including the names of each team, the result, the date and signatures of players, umpires and captains. Failure to do so will result in points being deducted.
If a game is cancelled for any reason (other than by a committee member) please notify Sue Fennell/Beverley Dyson. It is the responsibility of the teams to contact their opponents when cancelling a game. Whichever team cancels they will forfeit the points to the other team.
A player once registered is only permitted to play for that appointed club. If a player is needed to play for a higher team within her appointed club, she may only play up twice, if she plays for a third time she is deemed to remain in the higher team. This includes as a substitute player, no matter how long she plays.
Teams may play from a squad of 12 players. Additional players may be registered during the season, by contacting Sue Fennell prior to the game in which they are due to play.
